Packing List
Bring as little as possible in the smallest and lightest piece of luggage available to you. Dress for the hike is practical and casual, and evenings are very informal. If you are arriving in Israel before the hike and/or extending your stay, please make arrangements to store your excess baggage.
Recommended Packing List
- Knapsack large enough to carry 5 litters of water as well as your daily necessities.
- Supportive, worked in hiking shoes/boots *(running shoes prohibited)
- Socks--thin and thick, plus 3 extras
- Hiking pants, shorts or capris
- Tank tops/t-shirts
- Fleece/sweatshirts
- Vest
- Windbreaker
- Long sleeved shirts/zip-up (nights can be cool)
- Bathing suit
- Rain gear (pants/jacket)
- Hiking sticks
- Headband
- Casual evening attire
- Bladder (These will be provided to you when you arrive in Israel.)
- Sunhats
- Hand towel
- Kleenex (small travel packs)
- Wipes
- Sanitary hand wash
- Band aids
- Antibiotic ointment
- Sunglasses
- Sun block
- Quick dry towel
- There may be an opportunity for some to participate in a very adventurous canyoning day. You may want to include a dry sack to keep your camera and personal items dry.
- Electrolytes and Gels
One Family Fund and our travel partner, Routes, do not provide prescription or over the counter medical supplies to our hikers. Therefore, you are advised to bring with you whatever prescription or over the counter medications, remedies and basic first aid items you might require while hiking. As well, please bring extras of contact lenses, eye glasses and sunglasses.
